DOC Jobs for Nature

I had a unique opportunity to get up close to the rarest penguin in the world the Hoiho/ Yellow-eyed penguin filming this project for the Department of Conservation.

Without the collaborative efforts in Otago to protect hoiho, a huge portion of the population would be at risk. Penguin Place, yellow-eyed penguin trust along with DOC, Ministry for the Environment, the Dunedin Wildlife Hospital, and Penguin Rescue rely partly on tourism to help fund these efforts. Thanks to the Jobs for Nature programme border closures and covid haven’t gotten in the way.
